Yayyy CompTIA Trifecta post, If you’re thinking about breaking into IT or cybersecurity, the CompTIA TrifectaA+, Network+, and Security+ is the ultimate launch sequence. These three certifications helped me build a solid technical foundation and gave me the confidence to walk into rooms I once thought were out of reach.

This guide is for students, career changers, or anyone who’s serious about taking that first step. Whether you’re self-taught or in school like I was, I’ll walk you through the same resources and mindset that got me through it.What’s the CompTIA Trifecta?

Let’s break it down real quick:

  • A+: Core knowledge in hardware, software, troubleshooting, and IT support. Great for help desk or tech support roles.
  • Network+: Focuses on networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, switches, routers, and basic security protocols.
  • Security+: Introduces cybersecurity basics—threats, vulnerabilities, risk management, and securing systems.

Together, they prove you’re versatile, knowledgeable, and serious about tech.

What Helped Me Pass (and What Can Help You)

Here are the resources that made a big difference for me and that I still recommend today:

Olu’s Study Tips

  • Set real deadlines. Schedule the exam before you feel ready, It gives you a reason to stay focused.
  • Mix formats. Don’t just read, watch videos, do labs, and quiz yourself.
  • Teach it. If you can explain a topic like “subnetting” to a friend, you’re getting it.
  • Join communities. Reddit, LinkedIn groups, and Discord servers kept me motivated.
  • Study 30–60 mins a day. Consistency > cramming.

🧭 Why It’s Worth It

Passing the Trifecta changed my life. It helped me:

  • Land interviews and internships in cybersecurity (shoutout to QuikTrip for the opportunity 🙌)
  • My Network+ result post went Viral on LinkedIn, making me connect with more professional.
  • Build confidence before tackling advanced certs like CySA+
  • Lay a foundation to eventually pursue a Master’s in Cybersecurity
  • Launch CyberClarityHQ, a platform to help others do the same

If I can do it while working full-time, going to school full-time, and studying all the time you definitely can too.

🙏 Final Word

Don’t get discouraged. Every late night, every quiz you fail, every subnet that confuses you, it’s all part of the process. This journey isn’t just about passing exams. It’s about becoming a problem-solver, a critical thinker, and a future defender of digital spaces.

Keep pushing. Keep growing. The industry needs you.
